Yesterday, saw my physical therapist to discuss the new pain on the outside of my knee that occurs during a run and only while I’m running. It’s related to a tight IT band. She massaged it and did ultrasound. I used the foam roller that evening on the IT band, too. The following morning during my run the same area began to hurt. As I ran past her office, I saw her standing by the front desk. I doubled back and asked her about my knee and showed her where it was hurting. She instructed me to foam roll the IT band, then stretch my calf and quads. With a pat on the back she sent me on my way.
The pain was gone.
Everyone should have the option of a PT visit along their route.
